Goal

How might we elevate the online shopping experience for users on the Furnicraft app by incorporating special features to enhance user satisfaction and engagement?

Persona

Our target audience comprises two distinct groups: Career Starters and Young Couples . Career Starters are recent graduates and individuals adjusting to new environments, aiming to furnish their homes on a budget. Young Couples are embarking on life together, seeking creative and innovative designs that align with their preferred aesthetic.

For our competitive analysis, we selected Wayfair and Zara Home in Canada. Wayfair is a one-stop destination for all things home, offering a wide range of furniture and home goods at affordable prices. Conversely, Zara Home is positioned as a premium home decor retailer, providing high-quality and stylish home furnishings and accessories for the modern home.

Insights from Research Phase

By analyzing the pros and cons of the competitors’ app, this provided us with insights on what to include in our app for a better user experience. We came up with three new main features that allow us to stand out in the market: Inspirational feeds, product comparison, and community.

User Flow Diagram

At the design phase, we created the user flow diagram to visualize the steps users take to navigate through the FurniCraft app. This diagram helps us identify potential areas for improvement and ensure a smooth and intuitive user experience.

We developed a comprehensive test plan that focuses on specific tasks to be tested and observed during the user testing phase. This test plan ensures that we can evaluate the effectiveness of the user flow and identify any potential issues or areas for improvement.

Usability Test

For the usability test, we invited 5 interviewees to participate. The test was divided into two parts. In the first part, we asked the interviewees to perform specific tasks within the Furnicraft app . In the second part, we asked for their overall feedback on the app, including their thoughts on the style, design, and functionality. This comprehensive approach allowed us to gather detailed insights and feedback, which will be valuable in refining and improving the app.
